I live in London,Canada and three years when I was 11 I had the chance to attend a basketball camp in Muskoka. Before I attended the camp I was huge Duke fan, when I arrived at camp I learned that Kenny Blakeney was going to be a guest speaker. The day that Kenny was to speak we were warming up and I shot a three-pointer that by luck went in, a man in a Duke sweatshirt that I did not recongize passed the ball back. We continued to play until it turned into a one-one in front of the whole camp who were cheered us on. At one point I reached my hand out to steal the ball, the man pulled back and said something very smart "You reach...I teach". Sure enough I tried to take it and he blew right by me and threw a dunk. Strangely, it was not until after the game ended that realized it was Kenny! He told me what I did well and what I needed to work on. Four grades later I'm the starting point guard on my school's team.

I also have a brother named Kenneth Blakeney (Kenny). We live in central Mississippi. Taylorsville to be exact. We are descended from Capt. John Blakeney of South Carolina through his son Hugh. Hugh is buried in cemetary north of Natchez, MS. There are quiet a few Blakeneys here in Smith County Mississippi. I hope some of my long lost cousins will respond to me. I am 43 years old and proud to be a Blakeney!
